Last Wednesday, Vice News published “Anatomy of a Killing,” a  moving, well reported and beautifully written piece from a sidewalk in Cairo. Author John Beck writes about youth, optimism, hope and violent death. A murder.

Part of what made this story so incredibly powerful was the amazing combination of photos, taken by professionals and eyewitnesses alike. When John Beck saw the photo material, he went back to the street and gathered firsthand accounts, he wrote me on Thursday.
